This is a print proof for one of the famous ‘Affiches’ created by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec with the collaboration of Jules Chéret, the father of the modern poster, in 1899. It depicts and advertises a performance by the famous dancer Louise Weber, aka ‘La Goulue’, recognised as the godmother par excellence of the can-can. In the foreground, in silhouette, we see her performing partner: Valentin le Désoss. It bears Lautrec's signature on the front and Cheret's on the back. The print is in very good condition and is accompanied by a certificate of free circulation issued by the Soprindenza di Roma in 2010.
